Well it's been a while since we last gave everyone an update. Lori was in Africa for 2 months and I was there a little over a month. We got to meet my adopted african little brother. He's almost three years old and already walking in the Kingdom. It's amazing to see children believing God and walking in power. I love it! Check out the "Events" page for a picture. My parents have a ministry in South Africa. They have an internship where they have taken 18 first year missionaries and train them for 9 months. For a couple of weeks Lori and I modeled and taught about the Kingdom of God. Most of the students came from traditional evangelical backgrounds: Lutheran, Methodist, Baptist, Church of Christ, etc. By the end of the two weeks we saw such change in those students, it was amazing. The first day we took them out into one of the township to do ministry, they didn't really know what to think. We had been talking about miracles and words of knowledge and most of them had never seen a miracle or anything with the prophetic. While we were in a bus on the way I told them to pray and see if the Lord showed them anybody in their spirt. A girl finally spoke up and said, "I see a little boy with a blue shirt on and a white stripe down the sleeve." Another guy spoke up and said, "I see a little boy and he is bouncing a ball on the side of the street" I laughed to myself, I knew what God was up to. About a minute later we are driving into the township and there he is. A little boy with a blue shirt, white stripe down the sleeve and bouncing a ball. I have never heard a bus full of people scream like that. All I could hear was one girl yell, "My friends as home are never going to believe this!" I love it! That same day I came up to a group of ladies playing cards at the front of their house. I walked up to the ladies and began to make small talk as best I could with my southern/canadian accent. They weren't paying much attention to me and I even had a young man walk up and begin to make fun of us. Finally, one of the ladies came up beside me and sat down in a chair. She whispered to me and asked if my God could heal. I said, "Well YES!" She told me that she had a pain in her back for years. I immediately prayed for her and God completely healed her back. Right at that moment she was ready to receive Christ. After that happened another lady tugged on her shirt and asked her to get up, then she sat down. Immediately the Lord spoke to me and told me that she had a problem in her blatter. I asked her and she said, "YES, yes I do." I prayed for her and God healed her right there. She gave her life to Christ also! After these two miracles, the young man that was making fun of us came up to me. He whispered and said, "Listen, I don't believe in Jesus and I don't believe in miracles, but I've had a pain in my side for a long time. Will you pray for me. I said, "Yes, but if Jesus heals you will you give your life to Him?" He said, "Let's see if He heals me." As I prayed for him he looked up. He began to say, "Seriously! Everyone, listen! The pain is really gone! No joke." He kept repeating this over and over. He was so surprised. I asked him if he wanted me to pray with him to receive Jesus and he said, "no! I'll pray myself" He immediately began to pray outloud and ask Jesus if he could know him. I told him the Gospel and he prayed. It was beautiful. Let me tell you another story about a man named Patrick. The first day that we went to see Patrick, we walked into his little house. Not much more than a hut. As we walked in, I could feel hopelessness like I had never felt before. The entire time we talked to Patrick about the Gospel, he never looked up one time. We also found out that Patrick had full blown TB. Being that he was about 75 lbs that made sense. We talked with Patrick about Jesus and then we took authority over the TB. When we left Patrick didn't look any better and the sense of hopelessness had grown. One week later we went back to the same township and went to see Patrick. When we came in the house he was jumping up and down and had a huge smile on his face. He had gone to the doctor and every trace of TB was gone! He said he had never felt such hope in his life. Patrick gave his life to Christ that day. Lori and her team met with a local sangoma (witchdoctor). They talked with her about the Gospel for a long time. By the end of their talk, not only did she receive a miracle in her legs, but also gave up witchcraft and gave her life to Christ! Those are just a few of our God stories from Africa. Thank you Jesus.
